Thanks Dodge.. some were taken by Jean, Joey and whoever had the other cam. I only took those that had IMG on their filenames. Anyway, those were taken yesterday... from around 1030 to mga 5 pm siguro. We were out all day :)
There was a lady with a fabulously hi-tech camera (by my standards at least hihihi) who passed by when we were taking this picture and she was kind enough to give us tips on how to take portraits. Simple ones like, of course holding the camera vertically so that more of the body can be included in the shot, how to position the "subject" so that there are more curves esp for women, and taking at a lower angle for depth (if i remember correctly). As a result, Joey's picture (the next one without his shades on) turned out really well - again, by my standards.
I started attending a UF photography club weekly meeting and they have mini-lectures on photography every other week, so I am learning new techniques on how to take more artistic photos or find good angles and subjects. I have yet to fully learn how to use the bridge camera my brother gave me but I hope they can help me understand how to maximize the use of a digicam before I purchase my own DSLR :)
I always felt DSLRs are too complicated, not to mention impractical when traveling, until a friend of mine had me use hers. I was "converted" after I saw the pictures! As she puts it, once you go DSLR, there's no going back hihihi... well, I still use my tiny digicam and keep it in my school bag just in case a creative photo opportunity comes up :)
A really? I wanted to join the school photography club but never really found the time. What days/time are they meeting (just in case I would be free from my hectic schedule)?
Mondays 615pm at Little Hall 125... they have a facebook account- UF Photography club. But I should let you know that they are mostly undergrads. We're going to a bio lab tomorrow to take macro shots of specimens or whatever they have.
Hi Ethel! Nice pics! What time of day did you take these pictures?
